Now you wouldn't want to bring the forest to your house of course, but how about transforming your house into a forest? Sound hard? Well guess what, it's not going to be. I am going to give you enough ideas to plan the ultimate party and all you have to do is follow instructions and pick out the ideas you love best. You are going to find more than enough pictures, posters and clip art to help you get started in the transformation process. Now what are the benefits of having a party at your home? You might be thinking NO WAY!!! But wait, I know you won’t forget any crucial items at home (e.g. piñata bat). Second, that reservation won’t get screwed up…because you are at home! Finally, you know where everything is, how convenient. Now don’t get me wrong, you do run the risk of damage and such, but “you” need to weigh the benefits and risks and pick what’s best for you!
* Dinosaur Park: This is another excellent location for the party theme. Make a list of all the local parks in the area and write down the key features of each one. For example, how much area is available? is there a playground? trash can availability? Bathrooms? covered areas? Capacity of park? etc. You don’t want to show up at an overcrowded park, with no playground, no bathrooms and it start to rain. Spend some time in selecting the right park and I guarantee your party will run a lot smoother.
*Dino's Day Out: Want to get AWAY from the house for the day? Don't want to take a chance at ruining the house? Don't worry, you're not alone. But where do you start. First, make a list of local establishments that you could possibly book a party at. Next, start calling each location and ask if they will provide you with invitations, discounts on food, a cake, etc. Finally, make sure you find a decent place that provides you with enough stuff to balance out the cost and don’t be afraid to ask for food discounts and other items, you will be surprised on what they will offer, but only if you ask!

Picking out or designing the Ultimate invitation can either be a fun or challenging part of the party. It all depends on how much time you have, how much planning you want to do and how much thought you put in to it. * Party Slogan: Before we get into the designing process, why don’t you pick out a party slogan? Pick something that your party will be developed around. Here are a few ideas to help you:
1. "Dino-Mite Party!"

Before we get started, I have listed a few ideas on the design of the invitation and then I will give ideas on what to say inside.
* Dinosaur Invitation #1: Get a fierce-looking dino with big sharp teeth from our Clip Art section and print it out in black and white. Next, cut and paste it to some colored construction paper and glue another printout on it with the party info on the back.
* Dinosaur Invitation #2: Make these great invitations by cutting eggs out of construction paper. Cut the eggs in half (sort of zig-zagged). On the back of the lower eggs, glue little dinosaurs. Then fasten the eggs together with those little gold fasteners so the egg can open and close.
* Dinosaur Invitation #3: Here is a simple dinosaur invitation. Find a picture of a dinosaur and trace it on a piece of construction paper. Cut out the dinosaur and write the party information on the back.
* Here is a list of sayings you could include in your party invitations *

Picking out, setting up and fine tuning the decorations can be a long tedious process. But, there is hope, because with a little planning and creativity, it will be one of the most rewarding experiences of the party. I have compiled ideas that start with the outside decorations and finishes with the inside decorations. You can use all, some or none of the ideas, but no matter which ones you choose, they will help you turn your party location into the Ultimate Party Location.
First, let's start with the outdoor decorations:
Attach a bouquet of helium filled balloons to a light post or mailbox so there will be no mistaking where the fun will be that day!
How about setting the stage right from the beginning with this great Dinosaur Entrance? The children will love it!
How about a 3' High T-Rex? The children will love posing for photos with this Dinosaur.
Use a stencil of a dinosaur foot and copy it on a copy machine with a white piece of paper behind it so it looks like a dinosaur footprint. Place the footprints on the sidewalk leading to the house, in the house and to the party room.
Using a few refrigerator boxes, cut and paint them to look like a cave. Then place them in front of the front door. On the boxes, put the party slogan you chose earlier. Place bushes and other plants around the entrance to the "cave".
Hang green Mottled Gossamer vines overhead in the area where the children will enter the party. To create gossamer “vines”, simply hang a piece of lightweight gossamer overhead, and cut it into ragged strips of varying lengths.

Now, let’s move inside the party location and decorate…
Let’s start with the simple decorating. Tie helium balloons of different shades of yellow, blue or any other color of the rainbow in clusters of 3 or 5 to the back of chairs or tucked into corners. Don't forget to tie a bunch of balloons to the birthday child’s chair. If you choose not to use helium, tie balloons to varying lengths of curling ribbon, and hang them from the ceiling or from light fixtures throughout the house.
Next, let’s move on to another simple, yet familiar decorating item, Streamers. Streamers offer an economical way to splash lots of color around the site of the party. Create a fun and colorful effect by draping rainbow colored metallic streamers from the center of the ceiling to the walls on each side of the room. The streamers can be twisted after they are anchored to a ceiling wall or table for a more dimensional look. Two different colored streamers can be placed back to back and twisted for a unique look. After you are done, it should look like a spiral rainbow above the room! They also look terrific hanging from doorframes or cascading vertically down walls.

Hang green streamers from all the doorways to portray the "jungle look".
Outline a dinosaur on cardboard and let the children decorate it as they arrive. After they are completed, cut it out and place it by the front entrance. The parents will love to see what their kids created while they were at the Ultimate Party.

The colors of the party should be pretty simple. I would stick with green, white, black, etc. After you have selected the party theme colors, decide on whether you will use either printed or solid color party tableware.

Let those who’ve arrived early play with Bubbles while they wait for the other guests to arrive.
Don’t forget to check out the great collection of coloring pages I have compiled. A coloring activity is a great way to keep the children occupied until the party starts. Plus, you can send them home in their goody bag.
How about an exciting game of Dinosaur Stomp? Here is how to set it up...Take a blown up balloon, tie a string on it and use a mini binder clip to attach the string to the bottom of a child's pant leg. Then one child will be the dinosaur and will try and stomp on all the balloons. The kids will love it!
Freeze Dance is another great game to get kids acquainted. The game doesn't require a certain number of kids, so they can join in as they arrive. Play a scary dinosaur soundtrack as the kids dance. If you stop the music, they must freeze. If they don’t freeze, they are out. The game restarts after all the children have been eliminated except one. Kids love to dance and play games, which makes this an Ultimate Ice Breaker Activity.
Have the children decorate a large birthday banner in honor of your child that says, “Happy Birthday, Name”. You can get a large roll of paper from a store like Target. Give the children crayons, stickers, and other such items to use.
A great activity to start the party is have the children decorate their goody bag. You can purchase plain white bags from any local party store. Give the children crayons, stickers, paint and whatever else you can think of. This will keep the children occupied until the party starts!

Deciding on whether you are going to make or buy the Ultimate cake is a tough decision. It mainly depends on how much time you have and how many guests are coming. Now the parties over, what do you do? Start planning the next one? Sure, but you don’t want to forget about the guests that helped you celebrate your child’s birthday.
