First, I printed out lots of Curious George coloring sheets for our children to color. I then used theses as posters to put around the party area. On the front door I found a picture of George riding a bike and I typed on it, “Curious about Daniel’s Birthday Party? Come to the Garage!” I also found a picture of George pointing and I used that to lead the way. I hung streamers all over the garage and backyard. From the swing set to the roof, there were balloons and streamers!

My son saw the Curious George tableware online, so we went ahead and purchased it.

The first thing I served was this great Curious George Banana Bread. I found the recipe on the Curious George website. We also had hot dogs and banana splits for desert.

Since my son loves to read Curious George books we decided to mirror our games right from the books. In Curious George Rides a bike, he saves a baby bear, rides his bike in the animal show and makes newspapers into paper boats and sails them. So, with that in mind, our first activity was to “rescue” small stuffed bears hidden in the bushes. To do this, we hid miniature bears throughout the party area and had the children find them. They also got to keep them as one of their party favors. Next, we made paper boats and floated them in our kiddie pool in the backyard. We also put rubber duckies and other toys in the pool. I guarantee the kids will get wet, so make sure that is what you want or you don’t mind if they do. Our final themed activity was to act like George himself. The children walked around like monkeys and making monkey noises. It was so funny!
We ended the party with a good old fashioned game of Pin the Birthday Hat on Curious George. I blew up a picture of George I found online and gave each child a paper birthday hat. Then one at a time they attempted to pin the hat right on George.
