Picking the location can be one of the most difficult tasks for some people, because they want everything to be perfect. Just remember, you child is going to have a great time no matter where the party is as long as their friends are there…So pick something that is convenient for you. I have listed a few ideas to help you get started.
* Home: One of the all-time favorite locations has to be your backyard. You can control the party better, you know where everything is and the clean up is pretty easy. With the possibility of animals and hay at this party, you want to ensure the cleanup is quick and easy.
* Park: The second all-time favorite is somewhere in the local community, such as, the park. You could run into minor problems like forgetting a crucial party item or people not finding the party. But the pros are definitely worth it. More space, no chance of house damage and the children could play on the playground, if there is one.
* Gym: An Ultimate Child Party Theme location could be at a local gym at a church or school. This may cost a little money, but eliminating any chance of a rain-out or bad weather may be worth it.

Looking for the Ultimate Invitation to get your party started in the right direction? You have come to the right place. Here are a couple of ideas for you to use or tweak for your Ultimate Party Theme.
* Barn: Start by getting some red card stock, white paint pen, farm stickers, white piece of paper, glue and a red ink pen. Begin by cutting a barn out of the red card stock. Cut and fold back a set of barn doors and loft doors. Use the white paint pen to make the details on the barn and a fence. Put the farm stickers all over the card. Next, apply glue to the red card stock avoiding the doors and press firmly onto the white piece of paper. Now carefully cut the white paper around the barn. Now open the doors to the barn and write all the important party details. Don’t forget to let everyone know to wear their barnyard best.
*Pre-bought Invitations: If you aren’t the crafty type, then take a look at these invitations. Here are couple of ideas for the wording inside the card.
Old McDonald had a farm EIEIO. And on this farm we’re having a party EIEIO. Come join the fun as we celebrate (child’s name) (age) birthday! Put neighs only for the replies.
Oink Cluck Baa Moo, (child’s name) is turning (age)! (Last Name) Farms BBQ, (date and time), Neighs only: (phone number), Attire: Yer finest denim.

Picking out, setting up and fine tuning the decorations can be a long tedious process. But, with a little planning and creativity, it can be one of the most rewarding experiences of the party. I have put together a lot of different decoration ideas for your house. Take a look at them and pick out some. If there is any assembling or creativity involved, I have included instructions on how to make them. I want your party to be a simple and rewarding experience for you. Have fun and don’t forget to be creative…
Before we get started on transforming your home into a farm, take a look at some Barnyard pictures, clipart, coloring pages and a lot of other stuff. You can use these for invitations, decorations, thank you cards and anywhere else you see fit.
You’re going to need to mark the party location some how. What about with balloons? Check out this great selection of solid color balloons. Get enough balloons to decorate the whole party area. Kids love balloons and they make a great decoration. You could also cut out small pieces of black felt and glue them on white balloons. They end up looking like cow print balloons.
How about some signs pointing to the party location? Check out these funny signs. One sign reads, “They went that-a-way!”
Now it wouldn’t be a true barnyard party without some bales of hay. These make a great seat for the kids while they are eating and watching your child open presents. Plus, the hay can be used in the hayrides, if you are having them. There is more information on the hayrides in the games and activities section. If you are having a hard time locating a place to purchase hay, check with your local Home Depot or Lowes.
Check out these Ultimate Animal Beach Balls. You can put them on top of the hay or anywhere you desire. The children could also play with these balls throughout the party.
On the front door, you could put a poster size picture of your child dressed up in overalls, a bandana and a cowboy hat standing next to a toy horse. On the bottom of the poster, write “Welcome”.
If you have a wooden rocking horse, put it out by the front door. Tie a bandana around his neck and voila another decoration.
If you have an old refrigerator, dresser, washer box turn it into a barn. Simply stand it on the end and cut out a slit for the doors. Then get creative and turn that box into the Ultimate Barn.
These are just a few ideas to help you get started for your Ultimate Child Party Theme. Take the ideas you like and transform them into the perfect party. Good luck and have fun.

Now that you have got a start on decorating the party location, it’s time to think about the people who are going to be at this Barnyard Celebration.
Let’s start with the party guests. When they enter the front door, have a wagon filled with bandannas, cowboy hats and sheriff badges. Have a sign next to the wagon inviting the kids to take them “before joining yer posse!”
Now the special guest of honor must be in his best barnyard attire. There are a lot of cute costumes out there, but check out this Ultimate Costume.

When the children start to arrive, you need to have something to keep them occupied. Having a few ice breaker activities is a perfect way of keeping control. I have come up a with a few activities that will definitely fit the barnyard theme and keep their attention.
Have the children decorate milk pails when they arrive. These milk pails not only can be used in one of the games and activities, but also is a great party favor. Give the children different colors of paint, markers, stickers, etc. You will be amazed on what the children can create.
A simple game of Duck, Duck, Goose will keep the children occupied for hours. I am amazed on how a simple game can keep the children’s attention so long. If you have forgotten the rules, here they are: Seat the guests in a circle and choose a leader. The leader walk around the children tapping each child’s head and saying “Duck”. The leader will eventually tap a child’s head and say “Goose”. The Goose must get up and chase the leader around the circle. If the Goose doesn’t catch the leader before he or she gets back to the open spot, the Goose becomes the new leader. If the Goose catches the leader, he or she sits back down and the leader continues the game.
Give the children different barnyard coloring pages for them to color. After they have finished, hang them up around the barn. You can also give these coloring pages back to the children as they are leaving the party.
You could always put a barnyard themed movie on while the children are arriving. This should keep them calm and entertained until all the children have arrived and the party begins.

Picking out the perfect food, refreshments, treats and cake should be a fun experience. Think of clever names for each item that relates back to the Barnyard theme. Here are a few ideas to get you started:
Barnyard Theme Party Food
* Garden Tray: Serve your guests the best vegetables in the garden. Pick things like carrots, olives, tomatoes or any other vegetable your child likes.
* Classic Hot Dogs with an individual bag of chips.
* Fried Chicken on a farm, how ironic
* Fruit Salad
* Pigs in a Blanket: Take a croissant and cut it in half. Place a hot dog in the middle with some strips of cheese. Bake in the oven until cheese has melted. The children will love these.
* Homemade chili and Frito Pies
Barnyard Theme Refreshments
* I would suggest obtaining a large silver galvanized bucket and filling it up with kid’s favorite drinks, such as, Capri Suns, Koolaid Koolers, Koolaid Jammers, boxed juice, etc.
Barnyard Theme Party Treats
* Granola would make an excellent grain for the children
* Fries and pasta may pass as hay to the children
* Feed Bags: Fill little bags with munchies, such as, animal crackers, gummy worms or any other snack you choose. Close them up with a little twine and hand them out as party favors or treats.
* Chicken Feed: Put items such as popcorn, candy corn and sunflower seeds in a mini tin bucket and call it “chicken feed”. The parents and kids will get a kick out of this.
Barnyard Theme Party Cake
Deciding on whether you are going to make or buy the Ultimate cake is a tough decision. It mainly depends on how much time you have and how many guests are coming. I would suggest for a smaller party, you try and make that Ultimate cake. But if there are going to be a large number of guests, maybe a large cake made by the baker might be the best decision. It’s up to you, but here are a few ideas on making a Barnyard cake.
Check out this Ultimate Barnyard Cake. This will definitely be the highlight of the party.

Now the parties over, what do you do? Plan the next one? Sure, but you don’t want to forget about the guests that helped you celebrate your child’s birthday. Make sure to send them some type of thank you note. Whether it is store bought or hand made, just make to get it out no later than a week past the party. Also, if you took any pictures at the party, try to include one in each invitation. Here is a great thank you note to send out, it is the Ultimate Note to end the Ultimate Barnyard Child Party Theme.
